Lohn & Brot – ‘Wages and Bread’ – <\/span><\/h3>\n

AWO offers help from the heart.<\/span><\/h3>\n

AWO was the first supporter in the area for young professional help, in the 80’s. The project ‘Lohn & Brot’ was started in 1999. <\/span><\/p>\n

The emphasis of the project was on young people without work, who have not completed school, therefore have no school certificate and also have no family support. They are in danger of letting alcohol and drugs dictate their lives. Therefore it is important to be responsibility for these young people so that they can have a chance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The idea of ‘Lohn & Brot is ‘Lohn'( ‘Wages’) for the work done and ‘Brot’ (‘Bread’) to eat together. In order for young people to be able to get a satisfying professional life, they have to be given a chance to try things out and have success at the end.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pedagogical goal is the able to obligate young young people regularly, who could not be reached through other means, integrate and stabilise them. They should get new self confidence and access to work processes. They also get the possibility to earn some pocket money in the ‘day labourer project’.<\/span><\/p>\n

A side effect is that they have to be integrated in the group, have to follow rules and obligations and learn to not solve problems immediately with the fist.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the long run, changes and corrections in their attitudes that came from unfavourable life conditions earlier, can be made.<\/span><\/p>\n
